Unlicke most games with a lot of limitations, in GW you can have unoe character of eah profession with all skills of all professions. You can have it all... its faster, dynamic... you don't feel like wasting time...
...untill you see how slow some titles advance... and imagine how impossible would be to get them in the rest of characters (wisdom, treasure) unless you focus only on them and forget about the rest... or when you see that one single run it's the best to max a title, and making anything else would be wasting a time that you could use to get more maxed titles and feel the 'completion', the Grinder's Nirvana, XD.
In EotN, we at least have books. We can make many different things and get rewards instead of sticking to one single place.
But there are no books for the rest of the grind titles.
Would you allow to hand a Prophecies Mission book to get 250 points in Treasure hunter?
Once you have grinded with one character, with the rest you just want to fight. Make missions and quests and maybe vanquish or so... achievements. that also take some time.
The grind only keeps players aways from the achievement titles.
I say remove character-wide grind, make them account wide and add a title for making achievements with different professions.

I like the idea of more account based titles, although I might limit the additition to just adding the wisdom and treasure hunter titles to it.

ANET has added a new character based grind title: Party Animal. So I have added it to the list of titles I would like to see account based.

That's bullcrap... Another way to reward grind, by giving it a separate title.
When's title for a time played in-game? Or for most deaths?

I wouldn't make a title with most deaths and it will be abused > 55 player with vampiric > leaving hero to ress him and die automatically while you sleep.
About the total time played title I would say could be something like this:
2k hours: Dedicated Gamer (1)
5k hours: Addicted Gamer (2)
10k hours: Gamer With No Life (3) - also last tier of the title
As I said in the beginning it could be more abused by leaving pc always on however I doubt someone will leave PC on all the time (altough there are).
About the OP's Idea I vote /halfsigned. Sunspear title should Max out at lvl7 instead of 10 - for the sake of keeping the storyline intact.
Also to those player who say who don't like the idea lemme ask you this.
When you buy a new singleplayer game and for example you brother or sister wants to play it too, would she have to buy the game too? cause I don't think so.
It's true it's a game, anything is possible however the ones who play all those characters on the same account are the same person, this is why I believe they should be account based.
I apologize if I haven't been clear in what I said.

You mean to reward people who go afk? That's clever...

That would honestly be the worst title ever.
Go afk in Kamadan ID1 for 2 weeks straight when you're not playing, and you'll have the hours played title. Aggro a mob to a rez shrine and AFK overnight a few times and you have most deaths.
Basically, that would be the worst idea for a title ever.

I would make treasure hunter account based and maybe wisdom...
Other titles like SS and GWEN titles effect skills so i wouldnt like them to be account based

Even more reason for them to be account based.
Its bad enough they are linked to titles as it is, across multiple chars it just gets worse.

but then again you would be lvl 1 and have a grosly overpowered sunspear skill? so what you will be saying then you cant use pve skills untill you are lvl 20..
It wouldnt work imo those titles are fine the way they are... And SS titles effect the storyline also how you want to solve that?

Well idealy the skills wouldnt be linked to the title. But as that seems unlikely yes, not having your account title till lvl 20 or you complete mission X etc would work.

It doesnt actually effect the storyline. All it does it require you to get x points before you move on. But those extra points come from quests and grinding not the main storyline. So allowing players who have already done that to skip it wouldnt effect anything.
As for it being fine, that depends what you consider fine. I personally dislike the fact that the titles and the skills tied to them are time>skill in a game that is advertised as skill>time.

I understand grinding is bothering... I did alot of grinding titles on my main char...
And i truelly agree on the skill over time concept is lost especially after the intro of GWEN.
If they want to make titles like SS, LB and GWEN titles account based. They should make a plan how it effects the skills and the envrionmental advantages. I still see a big problem there. Thus i say leave those titles the way they are...

50k hours: I Consume The World's Supply of Energy While I [AFK] (4) ^_^
And for all of you people who like to grind... there's nothing preventing you from joining SS/LB hunts and whatever, go grind your reputation to 1000000 points if you want to, go get 250k LB if you want to. But don't make the rest of us do it.

You can already go to Lion's Arch, get a guildie to run the Gain Olias quest, and get 10 level 18 minions while you're still <level 5. Why don't we make all heroes unattainable until level 20 and make storage inaccessible until level 20 to prevent max weapons early on? /endsarcasm

I think that they should make it so that the highest ranks in the titles we have with our characters should all be combined to all characters.
IE:
I have rank 5 norn on my paragon but rank 3 on my assassin. My assassin will have rank 5 and vice versa for any other titles.

I can see three ways to deal with this:
1 - Make the skills only useable by level 20s
2 - Scale the maximum effective rank with the players level.
3 - Just ignore the issue. If the player doesn't want to remain in the low level areas it would just get them out faster, and if they do want to stay they will stay after hitting level 20.

How exactly does Sunspear effect the storyline ?
All I see it doing is holding back players until they reach an arbitary number of SS points. I view this as a bad thing even on a players first character, let alone later ones.

Okay the first three points seem reasonable changes...
As in the storyline when you start in NF.
Attribute quests = gaining ranks
Continue in some questlines = requires gaining ranks
you can solve them also with having a certain lvl cap ofc but it needs changing

But it doesnt effect the storyline. All it would do is allow you to skip the questing and grinding to get points. You still have to do the missions. So the main storyline isnt affected.

well im honest you got really good points but im still very sceptic about making titles like SS/LB account based..
I agree Guildwars wasnt created to be a grind based game and NF and GWEN have made it a more Grind based game by introducing these rep titles. But still i dont see why these titles should be account based.
I would rather see it like this... Add a reputation bonus book.. A bit like the herobooks in GWEN and make that account based so you can trade that for every char you would like so that that char can gain reputation points. And this book can be obtained with every char you finish the game with.

I didive the titles in 3 groups:
- PvP titles.
- Achievement titles.
- Grind titles. I didive then grind titles into 3 types:
*Linked titles: Linked to PvE skills.
*Unlinked titles: Not linked to PvE skills.
*Limited titles: LDoA and Survivor.
I would agree with making all the Unlinked and Limited titles account based.
For for linked titles, I would just make it easir to max them the more characters you own.
